Sleeps 14 | Bedrooms 7 | Bathrooms 6

Maleny Lodge has been operating continuously as a boarding house, guesthouse, bed & breakfast for over 70 years. Prominent local figure Mr Alfred C. K. Cook built the original house, naming it ‘Rosedale’, in 1905 for his wife Ada and eleven children (guest rooms Edina and Freda are named after two of their children). In the mid-1940s it changed hands, with the Watson family purchasing the property, extending the home, and renaming it Maleny Lodge. It operated as a well-established gentleman’s boarding house, accommodating teachers, bank managers, and other professionals requiring long-term accommodation. During the 1980s, it was run as bed & breakfast accommodation.

Then in 2021, Andrew and Lucy Pink fell in love with the property, lovingly restoring the home whilst carefully retaining its heritage character and original period features - including all windows and doors, polished floorboards, vertical join walls, working brick fireplace, internal fretwork, high ceilings, and stunning colourful leadlight, synonymous with Queensland’s historic buildings. To complement the home, each room has a curated collection of antique & vintage furniture, trinkets and artwork, creating a truly unique space for you to enjoy.

There are four guests rooms with king beds and private ensuites, and further three bedrooms in the original part of the house - a king room with its own ensuite, and two queen rooms that share the large main bathroom. You can choose to book a room, or the entire property, which sleeps up to 14 guests in total. Each bedroom has been individually designed to the highest standard, and with cloud-like bedding fitted with soft, flax linen sheets, you’re ensured a dreamy night’s sleep. Bathrooms feature handcrafted artisan tiles, original tap ware, double showers, freestanding roll-top baths, and complimentary luxe toiletries.

Maleny Lodge’s fully-equipped country style kitchen is a dream to prepare meals in - a light-filled space with quaint original chimney, open shelving, farmhouse sink, deep olive-green cabinetry, and all modern amenities. Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate dining area, with large antique farmhouse table seating up to 14 people. After dinner, retire to the lounge room and curl up on leather sofas by the wood fire.

Outside, a large heated magnesium swimming pool awaits. Start your day with a morning swim, relax on one of the lounges, then enjoy coffee & breakfast on the sunny verandah overlooking the pool, established gardens and native woodland surrounds. Of an evening, gather round the fire pit and cook a BBQ for easy al fresco dining in summertime.

Maleny Lodge is all about slow mornings and restful, rejuvenating days, where you can disconnect from the everyday, and escape to a beautiful sanctuary, that’s just footsteps from cafes & boutique stores. And for groups of friends and loved ones, this is a truly special place to reconnect.
