‘Clonsilla’, in the heart of Goulburn’s heritage precinct, holds over a century of history within its walls. A fine example of Edwardian architecture, it was built in 1907 by William Jobson, a builder and successful grazier. In 1913, it was advertised for sale in the Goulburn Evening Penny Post, and sold by Mr Fred Jobson, son of William, to a Miss Cox for 1,110 pounds. In 1919, the home was then owned by Dr. Woods, who used it for medical rooms. You can learn more about Clonsilla, as well as her renovation story, in a book compiled for guests to read during their stay.

Husband and wife team Nicola Stalker & Ken Atkinson, along with a team of local specialists, have spent over three years renovating and furnishing Clonsilla to transform the property into stylish, luxury accommodation. Many hours were spent hunting for the perfect pieces for each space, including beautiful antiques. Now a reflection of the happy, vibrant home it first was, Clonsilla has been brought back to life for guests to enjoy. Exquisite period detail can be found throughout the home, including cast iron lacework, high ceilings, original fireplaces, leadlight windows and doors, internal fretwork, and polished floorboards.

The entire home has 4 bedrooms, sleeping up to 8 guests. Two bedrooms feature king beds, one with queen, and one with double bed - all with luxurious, five star bedding, fluffy bathrobes, and complimentary slippers. Guests can choose to book the entire property, or for couples and solo travellers, there’s the option to book the double bedroom with its own kitchen, that can be securely separated from the main house. Both bathrooms feature Australian, eco-friendly Ena products, and one bathroom has a full bath for relaxing. There’s also two washing machines and driers, so you can settle in and enjoy a longer stay.

Clonsilla has two kitchens - with the spacious main kitchen fully-equipped for cooking gourmet meals. You’ll find a bread basket filled with sourdough bread, croissants or scones, an extensive tea selection & coffee machine, along with many extras including pantry staples, condiments, gourmet treats, bottle of wine - even beers in the fridge to enjoy in the courtyard! The sunny dining area, with large antique table is a lovely place to come together for meals.

Two elegant living rooms with original fireplace surrounds, remote-controlled gas fireplace, and large comfortable sofas provide plenty of space for everyone to relax. Settle back with book or magazine, play a board game or chess, or just enjoy catching up with friends with a glass of wine.

An avid gardener, Nicola has created stunning gardens for guests to enjoy. With established plants & roses, wisteria and pots of flowers, it’s a delight in all seasons. There are several places to sit back and enjoy your surrounds, including the beautiful front verandah, private courtyard oasis with retractable awning and BBQ for al fresco meals, an inspiration garden space with colourful wall mural, and even an enchanting glasshouse.
