Sleeps 4 | Bedrooms 2 | Bathrooms 1

Sitting proudly on the quiet high street in historic Oatlands, this heritage-listed cottage, over 180 years old, is a piece of Tasmania’s history. A stay here is to truly step back in time. Convict built, with rough-hewn, pick-marked golden sandstone walls, 101 Oatlands still has many of its original features, including rich cedar joinery and wainscoting, wooden floorboards, fireplaces, high ceilings and cast iron stove. The cottage has its creaks, quirks and imperfections, but these merely add to its charm & character.

The master bedroom features a king bed (that can be split into two singles if needed), and the second bedroom has a beautiful wrought iron double bed. Both are fitted with luxurious pure linen sheets & plump toppers for a blissful night’s sleep. The updated bathroom has a large shower, and complimentary Salus hair & body products are provided. There’s also a cot, high chair & toys available at no extra charge if you need, and the cottage has ducted heating throughout for the cooler months.

The fully-equipped, modern kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself, with a pantry stocked with basics, and breakfast provisions of eggs, bread, milk & juice are also included in your stay. The open plan kitchen & dining area also has an additional sofa and TV with complimentary high speed internet, so you can easily work from home if you need, or watch your favourite shows.

An inviting sitting room has a lovely central wood fire, moss green walls, antiques & vintage pieces, comfortable sofas, and lamps that create a warm, cosy glow. Step through the French doors outside to a private garden, with green lawns surrounded by old sandstone walls, and enjoy the picturesque view of Callington Mill Distillery, just over the back fence.

101 Oatlands is the perfect cosy cottage to slow down, snuggle up in front of the fire with a glass of Tassie wine, and escape the everyday. One to reserve for your next Tasmanian adventure!

Things To Do

The historic Georgian township of Oatlands is just over an hour from both Hobart and Launceston. Leave your car at the cottage, and spend time walking the streets, admiring the heritage architecture - Oatlands is home to the highest number of pre-1837 sandstone buildings in Australia. There are cafes, boutique shops & antique stores to browse, and take a tour of Callington Mill Distillery, built in 1837. Oatlands is in the heart of Tasmania’s central midlands and from here, it’s an easy and scenic drive to other notable historic towns, such as Bothwell and Ross.
